We launched the Project Implementation Support Service (PTSz) as a supplementary service to the ‘EU Funds for Roma Integration’ programme, with the aim of facilitating the successful implementation of projects submitted with the help of our project development work.
The service consisted of two elements: professional mentoring and, where necessary, supplementary financial support.
The mentors helped the organisations to translate the content of their own grant applications into practical actions within their day-to-day operations and to implement them successfully.
Where justified, we provided non-repayable or interest-free, repayable funding for costs that were essential for implementation but were not covered sufficiently or in a timely manner.
Projects applying for the service had to meet a total of eight criteria: eligible applicants included local authorities and Roma local councils, civil society organisations, non-profit companies, and social cooperatives that had implemented projects serving health, employment, community development, housing, educational and Roma integration objectives using EU funds, either as part of projects already underway or new projects, provided that the project budget was transparent and the project as a whole served to achieve the objectives set out in the application documentation.
