Training

The programme was implemented in Tolna County in collaboration with the Bonyhád Roma Minority Self-Government, with funding from the HEFOP 2.2.1 grant scheme. The aim of the project was to expand the knowledge of professionals and volunteers working in the social sector, develop their skills and strengthen their cooperation networks, so that they could more effectively help improve the employment prospects of those who turn to them.

The programme’s target group consisted of members of Roma civil society organisations and minority local councils in Tolna County, as well as staff working in the social and employment sectors of local councils. The programme comprised three training components: participants attended an 80-hour ECDL-START IT course and 32+32 hours of social and employment training, which included modules on communication and project development, amongst other topics. In addition to this, they went on two study visits, each lasting two days, to various civil society organisations and local authorities to exchange experiences.

As a result of the programme, participants gained practical knowledge about labour market opportunities, cooperation and project planning. In the final phase, the development and mentoring of European Union projects took place in four localities. The project contributed to the professional strengthening of local organisations and to improving the representation of Roma communities.
