Our Union Values Programme

The aim of the Our Shared Values Programme was to strengthen democracy, the rule of law and the fundamental values of the European Union in Hungary through support for civil society organisations.

The projects supported under the programme aimed to increase social dialogue, strengthen civil society cooperation, develop the capacities of organisations, and implement campaigns, research, training or advocacy activities addressing specific social issues.

The programme provided funding in four categories:

• ‘In Partnership’ supported cooperation, networking and joint campaigns among organisations with a national or regional scope – 18 applications worth EUR 1,021,800
• “In Development” provided funding primarily to civil society organisations operating in rural areas for project implementation and organisational capacity building – 26 applications totalling EUR 472,469
• In the “In Action” category, 27 participatory initiatives, actions, communication campaigns, mobilisation and advocacy efforts involving community members were selected, totalling EUR 319,130
• the “Youth Study Tours in the Footsteps of European Values” supported study tours for young activists from 6 civil society organisations, totalling EUR 30,000

The programme formed part of the European Union’s “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” (CERV) programme. The programme was implemented by the Ökotárs Foundation, the Autonómia Foundation, the Carpathian Foundation–Hungary and the Association of Community Developers.
